BACK TO THE BANKS 2009
Back to the Banks went down for the fifth time on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at venerated skate spot the Brooklyn Banks. As usual, there was a lot of skateboarding, chaos and kids, with what seemed like more than 2000 skaters in attendance. A total of $10,000 cash was given out for five different awards: Willy Akers took $2000 for each of the Bank to Wall and Bank to Ledge sections. David Gonzales took home $2000 for the Bump to Spine ledge. Floridian Chris Blake earned his cash for a switch front blunt down the Rail. And second placer Timmy Knuth deserves a mention for his perfect kickflip nosegrind down the Rail. It was amazing. And although he didn’t win any one of the sections, Emerica’s own Collin Provost grabbed the last $2000 for the Overall ripper award. He killed it all day, logging tricks on every obstacle. View more photos and video over at TransWorld Skateboarding.
Congrats go out to Collin Provost!
