IAN THORLEY TIES FOR FIRST AT HCSC
A new contest format erupted on Mt. Hood this week with the underground launch of the HCSC Spin Cycle Classic™. The premise is simple: which rider(s) can cycle through all four directions of spinning (frontside, backside, switch frontside and switch backside) from 180º to 900º with the least mistakes and the best style. Ian Thorley tied for first with Heikki Sorsa in the inaugural rotational event, and earned himself a Cobra Dog, Volcano Cone, Huck Shake, and his name permanently engraved on the iconic Spin Cycle Classic golden washing machine, the major appliance version of the “Stanley Cup of Snowboarding”.

EB - Es Game of Skate - New England Finals
On a blistering hot and humid Sunday, EB and Es footwear hosted the official tour stop of the its Game of Skate in Beverly Mass!
A little over 100 competitors sweat it out to have the chance to win the golden ticket to California for the Es Game of Skate finals!
6 lanes were constructed due to the sheer volume of competitors. It was great to see some great skating by some of the areas great skaters. Gavin Mcmahon, Matt Jay, Greg Cotto, Eddie Camini, Jay Clement, Derek Lemoine, John Desimas, Little Eric, Alex Filho, Hector Gill, Kevin from EB, Pat Hickey and of course Channdy Kohn.
When the dust had settled, 2 competitors were left. They were definitely some of the youngest also. It came down to Little Eric and Channdy Kohn! The victor after what seemed trick for trick, was Little Eric! Congrats go out to everyone who made it out and of course Channdy and Eric. Little Eric won a flight to the finals in Calif. One more contest remains close by. NYC will host its Game of Skate on the 28th. (tomorrow)
Special Thanks to the Es crew for making the journey and creating a great contest and great photos.

FORUM TWEAKER BOOT TECH!
Tweaker from Forum Snowboards on Vimeo.
Spanking new to this year’s boot line-up is the Tweaker featuring Forum’s very own Tweaker Cuff. Like no other boot on the market, the proprietary neoprene Tweaker Cuff, located on the inside (medial) ankle, offers increased flexibility for tweaking power on those cranked methods and styled-out backlips. This park boot maintains standard flex from toe-to-heel so you can power through if you’re in the back seat or on flat landings. Lay it down and tweak it out with the new Tweaker Cuff.

TALENT SKATEPARK GAME OF SKATE
JULY 16TH, 2009
Approx 45 competitors showed up for TALENT SKATEPARK's Es Game of Skate. Local talents of the Hale brothers and last years champion Marshall Heath made it out to compete in what was a battle to the end. First round qualifyers went for good extended amount of time as many battled it out. One first round qualifying match consisted of Marshall Heath drawing a young grom. the youngin' really battled hard and I do believe actually drew a letter off Heath! In the end it was Marshal Heath winning that match. other notable were Colin and Cody Hale having to battle it out to advance to the finals against Heath. This by far has been the longest most technical trick for trick match we have seen during the whole tour series. Crazy!
In the end, Cody Hale and Marshal Heath were our finalists. It was once again great battle , but in the end Marshal Heath was once again victorious and won the golden ticket to advance directly into the semi finals of the Official Tour Stop in Beverly , Mass.
Congrats to Marshal and to everyone who came out and especially Talent Skatepark!

PAT MOORE SPINS TO WIN
Not sure if it’s just Luck of the Irish, or his blazing spinning-speed that set Pat’s scalp ablaze, but Forum’s red-headed wonder boy was the over-all victor in the First Annual Snowboarder Magazine SPIN TO WIN Contest for America’s Next Top Pro Model. Nice work Patty Cakes. If you’re still dizzy, pick yourself up some Dramamine.

SHAUN MURPHY $1000 RICHER
The thundering waters of Niagara Falls provided the perfect backdrop for the latest installment of the Red Bull Butter Cup Contest Series. With several successful stops gracing the east coast this season, what better to compliment these prior events than a summer event, at Snow Park Niagara.
50 of the top amateur riders in the country descended on the venue, with heavy hitters such as Shaun Murphy, Ricky Beuler, the Mindich brothers, Forest Bailey, and Tim Humphreys all joining the mix. This was by no means your typical rail jam, as these riders were testing their creativity, and technical skills all in an effort to bag the $2,500 first prize.
1st Place – Tim Humphreys $2,500
2nd Place – Shaun Murphy $1,000
3rd Place – Forest Bailey $500
4th Place – Hans Mindich $250
5th Place – Ricky Beuler $250
Best Trick – Forest Bailey $500
